Des Moines Fire Department Purchases JAK Harness’s to Help Prevent Lifting Injuries

Des Moines, IA—

Jak Rescue is proud to announce Des Moines Fire Department has purchased their patented lifting device, the Jak Harness.  The Department plans to put a device on each of their frontline vehicles to enable crews to use proper lifting techniques, helping to prevent injuries often seen from lifting patients.

The JAK Harness also helps prevent injuries to the people being lifted, they sit on the device which lifts them by their bottoms, instead of pulling on their arms and causing shoulder and arm injuries!

JAK Harness is pandemic ready!  It can be completely sterilized in seconds and ready for the next call.  It is rated to 500 pounds and is Veteran and Firefighter made in the USA!

In my 28 years on the fire department the Jak Harness is absolutely the best assistance device I’ve come across.  If you’re lifting, assisting or transferring a person it is the safest for the patient and best for preventing injuries to the crew. Once you use it you will immediately realize how beneficial it is and understand why it is our go to lifting tool.

“Our department recently purchased the JAK harness. I have to say, I am impressed with how much we use it. The elderly fall cases are increasing. The ability to safely get folks up from the floor without injuring responders or the patient has been the true benefits we are seeing. Yesterday the patient said, “I really like this” as we assisted them to a car for a doctor’s appointment. The ability to effectively clean the device on scene is also a benefit. I recommend this device over other devices we have tried.”
